Letting Go Of Worry- Week Four

“I sought the Lord, and he answered me and rescued me from all my fears.” Psalm 34:4 (CSB)

Just like every other relationship, we must spend time together with the other party to get beyond a surface level. We must seek God by studying His word, communicating daily with Him in prayer, and submitting to His plan for our lives. As we spend time building that relationship with Him, we get to know who He truly is. He is good, loving, patient, and so much more. He even assures us that he will supply all our needs in Philippians 4:19, “And my God will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (CSB) No matter what we are going through, no matter what we are lacking, and no matter how impossible it may seem God will be there to provide everything we need.

When we seek Him and we communicate our needs, our worries, our fears, our questions, our love, and our gratitude, He will answer us. By going to God first with all things we can save ourselves the hours of feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, doubt, worry, and fear. Just like we can see in Psalm 34:4, He will answer us, and He will rescue us. “I sought the Lord, and he answered me and rescued me from all my fears.” Psalm 34:4 (CSB)

We know that God hears us, He answers us, and He will rescue us time and time again. Knowing this and experiencing this is life-changing. We can then go into each day trading our anxiety, our fears, and our worries for an overwhelming sense of gratitude. When we wake up and give thanks to God for every little thing it completely changes our mindset and perspective. When we are filling our thoughts with how much we must be thankful for we don’t have room for all the anxious thoughts.

Spend time daily thanking God and being present in a state of constant gratitude. Thank him for everything, big and small. Thank Him for the job you have that provides food for your family instead of worrying about how you can handle showing up to another stressful day of work. Thank him for the piles of laundry that you have that show you have enough to provide clothing and you can pay for the water and the electricity. Thank him for all the things on your calendar that show you and your family are living a full, well-rounded life. Gratitude changes how we view our to-do list, our hardships, and our stressors.

Sis, seek and praise Him. Fill your mind with his promises and gratitude leaving no room for anxious thoughts, fear, or worry.

Let’s Pray

Dear God,

Thank you for being a good and loving Father who is always there to listen and supply our needs. Father, we pray that you will remind us to live in gratitude for all we have been blessed with. Thank you for allowing us to seek you daily through your Word and prayer. Lord, please rescue us from our intrusive thoughts and feelings of anxiousness and worry. We know that you are in control and have better than we can imagine in store for us. We love you and thank you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
